Embossed Stainless Steel Sheets: Jindal SS, Cut-to-Size, Pan-India Supply
Jindal Stainless base sheet, patta and patti and chadar sold in the trade, and Relinox handles the finish-sample and rate side through an RFQ form.

An embossed stainless steel sheet is a decorative flat product carrying a raised or recessed relief pattern, roll-embossed onto a genuine Jindal Stainless base sheet. In the trade it goes by several names: embossed ss sheet, stainless steel sheet embossed, designer embossed sheet or embossed designer sheet, embossed inox sheet, and textured stainless steel sheet / patterned stainless steel sheet or rolled-pattern stainless sheet. Dealers also call it embossed patta, embossed patti or embossed chadar. The pattern isn't just for looks, either. It hides scratches and fingerprints, gives the surface more visual depth, and stiffens the sheet in the process. Relinox supplies it as designer job-work on authorized-channel Jindal 304, 201, 202 and 430 base, backed by MTC, cut to size, with dispatch across India from Delhi. Architects and interior contractors can request finish samples. Fabricators can pull today's rate. Both happen through the RFQ form.
Jindal Stainless embossed sheets, sometimes written as jindal embossed ss sheet or jindal embossed sheet, refer here to the emboss pattern applied to genuine Jindal Stainless Limited (JSL) flat product, our sole principal. This isn't Jindal SAW, JSPL or JSW Steel, which make carbon steel and pipes, and it isn't SAIL Salem either. The metal under the pattern is genuine JSL-melted material. It's not re-rolled bazaar stock.
What is an embossed stainless steel sheet?
For anyone searching what is embossed stainless steel sheet: it's a stainless base sheet run through patterned rollers that press a repeating raised-and-recessed relief into the surface. The texture becomes part of the metal itself, not something printed or coated on top. That relief scatters light, hides handling marks and adds rigidity. That's why you'll find it specified for lift cabins, cladding, doors and furniture. This is a decorative roll-textured designer product. It is not the raised-lentil chequered / anti-slip floor plate (see SS chequered sheets). It is not the 3-D water-ripple wave finish either (see water ripple SS sheets), and it's not an etched chemically-cut design (see etched SS sheets). It sits within our wider designer stainless steel sheets range.
Embossed patterns we supply
Linen finish ss sheet, leather finish, or moon finish. Stucco, cubic, diamond, hexagon, pyramid, chessboard (checker), rice, or bead pattern. Each pattern is rolled onto genuine Jindal base stock. The exact catalogue gets confirmed on enquiry, and custom rollers depend on feasibility and order quantity. The emboss family covers a wide range of textures, and the patterns listed above are the ones customers ask for most often.
| Pattern | Look | Typical use | Base finish under emboss |
|---|---|---|---|
| Linen | Fine woven-cloth weave | Lift cabins, wall panels | 2B / matte or PVD colour |
| Leather | Soft grained hide texture | Furniture, doors, partitions | 2B / matte or PVD colour |
| Moon | Overlapping shallow craters | Ceilings, feature walls | Mirror or PVD colour |
| Stucco / cubic | Random stucco / cube relief | Cladding, column covers | 2B / matte |
| Diamond | Repeating diamond lattice | Doors, almirah, signage | 2B / mirror |
| Hexagon | Honeycomb hex grid | Feature interiors | 2B / PVD colour |
| Pyramid | Raised pyramid studs | Decorative panels | 2B / matte |
| Chessboard | Checker square relief | Panelling, partitions | 2B / mirror |
| Rice / bead | Fine rice-grain or bead dots | Furniture, appliance skins | 2B / matte |
| Antique / aged | Darkened, aged relief tone | Feature décor, doors | Coloured / PVD base |
An antique finish SS sheet, also searched as antique embossed or aged SS sheet, is an embossed pattern finished with a darkened, aged tone, typically applied over a coloured or PVD base to achieve a heritage look. Exact antique options depend on the enquiry.
Grades & base finishes
Jindal Stainless makes the base grade the real decision point here: it sets corrosion life and determines whether the sheet is magnetic. The emboss itself is just a decorative texture laid on top. For most indoor and outdoor jobs, embossed ss sheet 304 is the default choice. Need something cheaper for interior work? Embossed ss sheet 201 and embossed ss sheet 202 fit that budget bracket. Embossed ss sheet 430 works well for dry indoor décor, and embossed ss sheet 316 is there on request for coastal or corrosive settings.
The emboss can go over a 2B/matte base, a mirror finish, a PVD-coloured base, or it can be given an antique tone instead. Composition and mechanical values aren't guesswork; they follow standard published data per ASTM A240 / IS 6911, as produced by Jindal.
| Grade | Character | Corrosion / magnetic | Typical use | Grade page |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 304 / 304L | Austenitic, all-round default | Good corrosion resistance; non-magnetic | General interior & exterior décor | 304 base for embossed sheets |
| 201 | 200-series, economical | Moderate; slightly magnetic | Budget interior panels | 201 base for embossed sheets |
| 202 | 200-series, economical | Moderate; slightly magnetic | Budget interior décor | 202 base for embossed sheets |
| 430 | Ferritic | Dry-indoor only; magnetic | Indoor decorative work | 430 base for embossed sheets |
| 316 / 316L | Austenitic, added molybdenum | Higher, resists chlorides; non-magnetic | Coastal / corrosive (on request) | 316 base for embossed sheets |
Grades outside this core decorative range are available on indent or by request.
Sizes, thickness & weight
Embossed sheets ship in the standard Indian market sizes, usually with a PVC protective peel film over the textured face. The trade default is the embossed stainless steel sheet 8x4 (also written 4x8), the size behind most 8x4 embossed sheet and 8x4 rate enquiries. Larger cladding runs use 4x10 and 5x10.
The decorative thickness band runs 0.5–1.5 mm. Common stocks include embossed ss sheet 0.8mm, 1mm and 1.2mm, sitting around 22 gauge, and the thinner 24 gauge also falls inside this band. These cover most cabin, cladding and furniture work. The exact stocked range gets confirmed on enquiry.
| Size (mm, W×L) | Size (ft) | Thickness range (mm) | Gauge (approx) | Typical use |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1250×2500 | 8x4 / 4x8 | 0.5–1.5 mm | ≈26–16 g | Standard décor panels, lift cabins |
| 1250×3050 | 4x10 | 0.5–1.5 mm | ≈26–16 g | Taller cladding & partitions |
| 1500×3000 | 5x10 | 0.5–1.5 mm | ≈26–16 g | Large feature walls & columns |
| Cut-to-size | To your dimensions | 0.5–1.5 mm | — | Letter returns, custom panels |
Embossing barely changes the base weight. For embossed sheet weight per 8x4, use the embossed sheet weight calculator and the SS sheet weight chart based on the base grade, size and thickness. Need the full size and gauge reference instead? See SS sheet sizes & thickness.
Applications
Embossed sheet is specified where a textured, mark-hiding metal surface matters.
| Use-case | Recommended grade | Note | Application page |
|---|---|---|---|
| Elevator / lift cabins & doors | 304 | Emboss hides fingerprints & scuffs | elevators & lifts |
| Wall cladding, wall panel & ceiling | 304 (316 if coastal) | Columns and partitions too | wall cladding & interiors |
| Doors, furniture, almirah & partition | 304 / 201 | Grained textures for décor | furniture & modular kitchens |
| Signage & fabricated letters | 304 | Textured feature face | signage & letters |
| Bus body & transport interiors | 304 | Durable decorative panelling | bus body & transport |
An embossed SS sheet for lift or elevator cabin interiors is one of our most-requested jobs, since the pattern hides handling marks. The same panels work as an embossed SS sheet for wall cladding, wall panel or ceiling on interiors. For door, furniture, almirah or partition applications, an embossed SS sheet tends to favour linen, leather or bead textures. And when it comes to signage or letters, an embossed SS sheet brings a textured feature face.
Embossed vs chequered vs water ripple vs etched
These decorative pieces double as functional products, and people mix them up often. Each one gets its own owner page, linked below.
| Product | Pattern type | Function | Owner page |
|---|---|---|---|
| Embossed | Rolled raised/recessed relief (many patterns) | Decorative, hides marks, stiffens | This page |
| Chequered | Raised lentil / tread lugs | Anti-slip floor plate | SS chequered sheets |
| Water ripple | 3-D flowing wave texture | Decorative light play | water ripple SS sheets |
| Etched | Chemically-cut design | Decorative, fine detail | etched SS sheets |
Embossing is a rolled relief pattern, added purely for looks. Chequered plate is different: it's raised for grip, meant to stop slipping on a floor. Water ripple gives you one continuous wave texture, flowing across the surface. Etched work comes from a chemical cut into the metal. So embossed vs chequered, embossed vs water ripple, embossed vs etched, each pairing comes down to how the pattern is made and what it's for.
Processing & customisation
Jindal supplies the base steel; we shear cut-to-size embossed SS sheet as job-work and ship it out with protective film over the textured face to keep it safe in transit. Custom emboss patterns depend on roller feasibility, and there's a minimum quantity involved too, confirm both on enquiry.
You can also have PVD colour applied over the emboss as a further job-work step. Gold, rose-gold, black, all pulled from our PVD colour SS sheets range. Want a mirror base instead? That comes from our mirror finish SS sheets range.
One thing worth being clear about: the emboss pattern and any base colour are finishing work only, done on genuine Jindal steel. We don't remelt it, and we don't roll it ourselves.
Embossed SS sheet price: what drives it
SS sheet pricing isn't something we can pin to a single rupee figure, and you won't find static tables on this page. Whether you're searching for embossed ss sheet price per kg, embossed ss sheet rate, embossed ss sheet rate today, or embossed ss sheet price list, the number comes from a few moving parts: the base grade rate per kg, an embossing job-work premium (set by the pattern and base finish you choose), sheet thickness, size, quantity, and freight on top of all that. For today's indicative base figures, check the today's indicative SS sheet price list. Then lock in the actual rate through an RFQ.
| Factor | Effect on rate (directional, no figure) |
|---|---|
| Base grade | 304/316 cost more than 201/202/430 |
| Pattern & base finish | Mirror or PVD-coloured / antique base adds premium over plain |
| Embossing job-work | The texturing step adds a finishing premium |
| Thickness & size | Heavier gauge and larger sheets raise cost |
| Quantity | Bulk orders improve the per-kg rate |
| Freight | Destination & loading terms affect delivered cost |

FAQ
What is an embossed stainless steel sheet?
It's a stainless sheet with a raised or recessed relief pattern rolled into the surface, built on genuine Jindal base for decoration and rigidity. The texture also hides scratches and fingerprints. That's why it turns up in lift cabins, cladding, doors and furniture.
Which grade is best for embossed sheets?
Use 304 for general interior and exterior work, 201/202 for budget interior use, and 430 for dry indoor décor. 316/316L is meant for coastal or corrosive environments, and it's available on request. Check out the 304 and 430 grade pages for more.
What patterns can I get?
Commonly linen, leather, moon, stucco/cubic, diamond, hexagon, pyramid, chessboard, rice/bead and antique/aged relief. Ask us for the exact catalogue and any custom-roller options.
What is antique finish SS sheet?
An embossed pattern gets darkened and aged, usually laid over a coloured or PVD base, to give that heritage look. Exact antique options are confirmed on enquiry.
What is the price of embossed SS sheet?
Base-grade rate per kg, plus an embossing job-work premium that depends on pattern, base finish, thickness, size and quantity, plus freight, that's the general structure. Larger orders bring the per-kg rate down. Check our indicative price list, then confirm today's rate through the RFQ; we don't quote a fixed figure here.
Do you supply cut-to-size or custom patterns?
Yes, cut-to-size shearing is available as job-work, and pieces are dispatched with protective film. Custom emboss patterns depend on roller feasibility and a minimum quantity, which we confirm on enquiry.
Is an embossed sheet the same as a chequered plate?
No, a chequered plate is a raised anti-slip floor plate (SS chequered sheets). An embossed sheet, by contrast, is a decorative rolled relief. Water ripple and etched finishes are separate decorative products in their own right.
Are embossed sheets magnetic or do they rust?
It depends on the grade. 304 is largely non-magnetic and resists corrosion well, whereas 430, 201 and 202 are magnetic and suit dry indoor use better. Match the grade to the environment, the grade pages have the details.
Do you provide a mill test certificate?
Yes, the emboss goes on genuine Jindal base, and there's a mill test certificate for that base material. Request a sample copy with your enquiry, see our quality & mill test certificates page.
Do you deliver across India?
Yes, we dispatch pan-India from our Ajmeri Gate, Delhi stock point. Please confirm dispatch timelines and freight terms on the RFQ.
Is this genuine Jindal material, and will I get a GST invoice?
Jindal Stainless Limited (JSL) makes this flat product, and yes, there's a GST invoice with HSN attached. Relinox distributes for Jindal under an MoU-partner arrangement; the embossing itself is just finishing job-work done on that genuine base.
