Jindal Stainless (JSL) means Jindal Stainless Limited here: stainless flat products out of the Hisar and Jajpur mills. What is a stainless steel coil?
A coil is the mother form of flat stainless: the mill rolls the strip and winds it into a coil, then that coil gets decoiled and cut into sheets, slit into strips, or blanked into circles. Cold-rolled (CR) coil is smooth, holds tight tolerances, and comes finished in 2B/BA. Hot-rolled (HR) coil is thicker and ships in No.1 finish. CR vs HR coil: which to choose
CR coil (cold-rolled) is thinner, smooth and tight-tolerance, finished 2B or BA, the default for utensils, appliances and general fabrication. HR coil (hot-rolled, No.1 coil) is thicker with a matt descaled surface, used where thickness and strength matter over finish. Cold rolled ss coil and hot rolled ss coil are the two options above; full detail is in the HR vs CR guide.

Coil weight
Ss coil weight per kg comes from width × thickness × length × density, with austenitic stainless running roughly 7.93–8.0 g/cc. Since coil weight hinges on your specific width and coil length, skip fixed tables and run the numbers through the weight calculator or check the SS weight chart for a per-coil figure.
Applications
