What is a mirror finish (No.8 / BA)?
A mirror finish is the most reflective surface you can put on stainless flat product. Take a No.8 finish ss sheet, sometimes written no 8 mirror sheet, and you'll find it's polished through progressively finer abrasive and buffing stages until the surface throws back a clear image. That's why people also call it a super mirror or 8K mirror ss sheet. A BA finish stainless sheet gets to high reflectivity by a different road: the sheet is bright-annealed in a controlled atmosphere, so it comes off the line already bright, no heavy mechanical polishing needed. Both stand apart from mill finishes. 2B is a smooth matte. No.4 is a directional brushed or satin finish. Hairline is a fine linear grain. Mirror sheets come in standard Indian market sizes, with a PVC protective peel film over the polished face to guard it during transit and handling. The trade default is the mirror finish ss sheet 8x4 (also written 4x8); larger façades run on mirror finish ss sheet 4x10 and 5x10. Decorative thickness typically ranges from 0.5 to 3 mm, roughly 26 to 11 gauge. Common mirror ss sheet 0.8mm / 1mm / 1.2mm / 2mm stocks handle most cladding and cabin work, and heavier gauges are available on request.
